Message from the President
This year has been an eventful one for those of us interested in promoting better understanding of Napoleon. Here at the INS we published our first Journal and produced our first International Napoleonic Congress. We have also been active in recognizing special contributions made by Napoleonic scholars throughout the world by awarding Fellowships, Literary Awards, and our highest honor, the Legion of Merit. We will continue to work to unify all of the serious Napoleonic historians throughout the world under the banner of the INS.
I am presently working on a six part television series about Napoleon's life. This will be produced in English, French, and Spanish for broadcast and video production throughout the world. We are forming a committee of Napoleonic historians to ensure that the series shows the true history of Napoleon.
Finally, I would like to offer my congratulations to Prince Charles Napoléon for his recent election as President of Le Souvenir Napoléonien of Paris, France's largest Napoleonic society. Now all Napoleonic Societies throughout the world will work in unison. Prince Napoleon is a dynamic, energetic and highly capable and professional person who will lead le Souvenir Napoléonien of Paris into the 21st century. It will be our pleasure to work with Prince Napoléon and his new committee to promote the goals shared by all groups.
Ben Weider, CM, CQ,
