«BEN WEIDER MILITARY MARCH»



 

Some three hundred high ranking military officers Hosted by Major – General Romeo D’Allaire, former Commander of the United Nations forces in Rwanda, recently gathered in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, headquarters of the 62 nd field Artillery Regiment and home of former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, for an official and unprecedented honour bestowed upon Mr. Ben Weider, C.M., C.Q., SBStJ., Ph.D. and honorary Lieutenant-Colonel, 62 nd Field Artillery Regiment. The Ben Weider Military March was officially performed before the assembly for the first time Saturday, November 30 th 2004 . This special gathering was convened for the express purpose of unveiling the BEN WEIDER MARCH.


The 62 nd Field Artillery Regiment is one of the most respected Artillery Units in Canada .


Mr. Weider, in commenting on the Ben Weider March said: «The March is at once pleasant to the ear and stimulating to the heart, I feel particularly honoured to have my name attached to it».


In May of 2000, Mr. Weider was invested with the French Legion of Honour a decree issued by the French Government. This is the most prestigious award of France created by the Emperor Napoleon in 1802. Mr. Weider was also invested with the Knight of the National Order of Quebec … and in 1975 received the Order of Canada, the highest award that can be bestowed upon a citizen of Canada.


Mr. Weider is President of the International Napoleonic Society and President of the International Bodybuilding Federation.
