18 September 2009
Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London

The Swedish Commission on Military History (SCMH) will be visiting RUSI to deliver presentations on a unique collection of maps dating back to the 16th century held by the National Swedish War Archives, and also on the war of 1808-09 between Russia and Sweden. Despite having far-reaching consequences in Northern Europe, as a part of the Napoleonic wars, the Russian-Swedish war of 1808-09 is not too well known to a British audience.
This event will provide an excellent networking opportunity for those interested in all facets of military history, in the surroundings of the newly re-launched RUSI Library of Military History. RUSI also welcomes the contribution of the British Commission for Military History towards this event.

Further details will be available shortly but the timings are as follows:
1000 Registration and Refreshments
1030-1230 Presentations by the SCMH
1230-1330 Lunch
1330-1500 Discussion Session on how to develop the SCMH, featuring a contribution from the British Commission for Military History.
To register please complete the attached booking form. The registration fee of £20.00 includes lunch and refreshments.
