The Legion of Merit, created by our founder Ben Weider, is the highest honor of the International Napoleonic Society. This gold medal is awarded to those who have made significant contributions to the field of Napoleonic history by exceptional works in teaching, publishing, organizing Napoleonic conferences or organizations, creating and/or maintaining major museum exhibitions or other extraordinary contributions that help to perpetuate the positive memory of Napoleon.
Most medals are given on the recommendation of an international committee of top Napoleonic scholars, while a few are awarded directly by the INS President.
These people represent the very best in their respective fields, and come from countries all over the world. It is with great pleasure and pride that we publish their names here.
